 The new non-leafing MetalFX silver ink, manufactured by Eckart GmbH, is now available through ink suppliers.
Previously, MetalFX has been accessible by using a standard and a premium silver ink, which had a substantial difference in price. The new non-leafing silver bridges the gap between the two inks. The ink, available for lithographic presses gives an optimum result when varnished that is comparable with UV results.
Eckart's Dr Oliver Schwab commented:
"The non-leafing silver has been especially developed with MetalFX in mind. The ink will give MetalFX printers a greater freedom and the opportunity to achieve outstanding results at less cost. The silver pigment works with the overprinted CMYK and an aqueous varnish to bring the metallic to life with extra vibrancy. This makes it perfect for packaging jobs, amongst others."
LIVE JOBS
The first live jobs to be printed using the non-leafing silver include the Picture Business magazine cover and its advertisements, and The Print Business magazine.

If you would like to use the new MetalFX non-leafing silver, please contact your regular ink supplier. The reference code for the ink is "MetalStar MFX 06 9000 nl standard base offset silver".
